BBC Wildlife is looking for a deputy editor to nurture and develop one of the BBC’s most prestigious titles.
As deputy editor, you will safeguard the magazine’s tradition of excellence and help to shape its future.
You will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the title, deputising for the editor, and commissioning and editing designated sections to the highest standards.
You will have a nose for a story and a feel for the market, and will contribute exciting new content ideas for the print magazine, its new website (launch due in July) and commercial activities.
We will be looking for encyclopaedic knowledge of, and a passion for, natural history, at least three years’ experience as a magazine journalist on a high profile consumer title, a talent for writing, and an understanding of online.
A natural leader, you are able to manage and develop a team, very organised and meticulous, great at working under pressure to tight deadlines, with bags of creativity and initiative.
