I have over 18 years publishing experience working across magazines, newspapers and websites. I started out in publishing in London working for MICP, a major contract publisher, and then The European newspaper before making the move down to the South West where I published the music magazine business at Future. I was then Managing Director of Origin Publishing, which I joined when it founded in 1997 and helped build into a leading specialist interest publishing business.

I became Managing Director in April 2006 following BBC Worldwide’s sale of Origin Publishing and the subsequent formation of BBC Magazines Bristol.

I qualified professionally in 1981 and have since held increasingly senior financial roles in a number of industrial groups. I was Group Finance Director of Electoral Group Limited, a manufacturing company with operations in the UK and several European countries, and, most recently, Financial Director at the leading specialist interest magazine publisher Origin Publishing, since 2003.

I became Financial Director in April 2006 following BBC Worldwide’s sale of Origin Publishing and the subsequent formation of BBC Magazines Bristol.

I learned the ropes of magazine publishing over 10 years ago working in production in London for a wide array of consumer and customer magazines. I made the trip from London to Bristol (via 4 continents and a world tour!) in 2001 when I joined Origin, prior to its acquisition by BBC Worldwide and the subsequent formation of BBC Magazines Bristol.

I became Production Director in April 2006, leading our growing production, advertising production and reprographics teams. The past few years have been an exciting time - not only have we taken under our wing new areas of responsibility such as reprographics, but we have also received industry-wide recognition through being awarded PPA Production Team of the Year.
