BBC Customer Publishing wins APA Effectiveness Award 21 November 2007
|
| BBC Customer Publishing last week scooped the accolade of Most Effective Travel and Leisure Title at the APA Effectiveness Awards 2007 for About the House published on behalf of the Royal Opera House. |
Facing stiff competition from the likes of The Sunday Times Travel Magazine and British Airway’s High Life, the judges said that About the House was “absolutely right for the audience. Its luxurious feel and welcoming design make it a compelling read – whether you like opera or not. The obvious quality and impressive results of About the House makes it a great example of customer publishing as a selling tool.”
Julie Williams, Director of Customer Publishing, commented: “‘I’m delighted that the quality and effectiveness of About the House has been recognised through this award. It is a brilliant brand extension of the ROH, providing readers with an impressive magazine featuring exclusive interviews and photographs that they could only expect from the world’s leading opera house.”
About the House is sent to Friends and Trustees of the Royal Opera House, providing exclusive news, interviews, features, reviews and booking information. The magazine generates an additional £7.8 million for the ROH every year through ticket sales alone.
Now in their 9th year, the APA Effectiveness Awards showcase the creativity and effectiveness of UK customer publishing, celebrating the best magazines, editorial content and people in the industry. The winners were announced on 21 November at a ceremony at the Brewery, London. For further information, visit www.apa.co.uk
